SMS Emergency Fund Program

Alsalam Alikum Wa Rahmatullah

Dear Community Members,

Together, we are facing an unprecedented global situation – battling the COVID-19 outbreak. Such calamity is an opportunity for all of us to reflect on our lives. An opportunity for us to reset and have a reality check that this life comes with a “higher purpose” we might have deviated from.

SMS would like first to acknowledge those directly and indirectly affected by the virus and send our prayers for a quick recovery to those who are sick. SMS is also grateful, after Allah SW, for the healthcare workers, government agencies and essential service providers who are working diligently to care for the most vulnerable and people in need.

Some of our community members and neighbors might be going through difficult times especially with lots of businesses being closed. Many people have lost their jobs due to the outbreak and have very little resources to live on. As part of our collective responsibility towards our communities, SMS, in coordination with ICNA relief, is rolling out an emergency program to provide support the most affected Muslims and non-Muslims alike. This includes food and basic home needs.

If you or someone you know is in need of such support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to SMS using either one of the following numbers: 214-529-4194, 818-292-2712, 214-718-3203, or 412-610-9314.

Finally, this program will be funded by SMS using collected zakah money. If you are interested in contributing towards this program, please donate online or reach out to SMS board using one of the numbers above.

Jazakum Allah Khair
